Missy, Emma and I went on a 12 mile hike this weekend towards Lake Mary in the Absaroka-Beartooth wilderness. I lugged my Nikon with 24-70 mm lens and took this image of the valley through which the West Fork of Rock Creek runs. It was taken at 1 pm but we were lucky to have cloudy skies which saved the image.

At the end of the hike we encountered a cow Moose with calf very close to the trail. Fortunately we had been alerted to their presence by some other hikers so Missy was ready with Emma and I had my camera out.
